I have always believed that if you want to see change in this world, you must first be that change. The vision for Daily Bread Africa was born from a burden I felt after spending my birthday in September 2023 serving meals to the underprivileged on the streets of Accra, Ghana. That simple act of kindness left me wondering how these individuals survive each day without knowing where their next meal will come from. I immediately decided to be the change I wanted to see by starting an organization that would be committed to ending hunger, one meal at a time. After a year of research and brainstorming, I communicated the burden to a few trusted people in my life who helped me run a feasibility study and gave life to the vision. On January 1st, 2025, we officially launched, and none of this would have been possible without the incredible people who chose to walk this journey with me. My co-founders: Emmanuel, who thought of the name “Daily Bread Africa” and currently serves as our Operations Manager, and Justina & Lawrence, who have dedicated their time and resources to ensure the success of this organization. I’m also deeply grateful to Francisca, who has diligently tracked our meals served, community outreach, and impact since day one. To my dear mother, Barbara, who serves as our dedicated Program Coordinator, ensures every meal is prepared and stored efficiently for distribution. Our shared passion and hard work has helped us turn a simple dream into a mission that is transforming lives everyday. Together, we have built not just an organization, but a family grounded in compassion, purpose, and impact. This journey has taught me that being the change I wish to see means showing up with a willing heart and faith that even the smallest effort can make a lasting difference.
To many, Emmanuel represents the very heartbeat of Daily Bread Africa. His dedication, energy, and unwavering commitment shine through everything he does. Whether he is organizing logistics with volunteers, managing crowd control, or offering a warm smile to those receiving meals, he ensures that every distribution runs smoothly. As the Operations Manager, his presence and ability to remain calm under pressure bring a sense of order and unity on the field, no matter what the challenge of the day brings.Emmanuel’s heart for people and his dedication to the mission makes him a living reflection of what Daily Bread Africa stands for.
Mr. & Mrs. Boateng are the dynamic duo behind Daily Bread Africa’s partnerships and collaborations. Together, they work to build and nurture relationships with donors, sponsors, and organizations that share our mission. For the Boateng’s, being part of Daily Bread Africa is more than just a role; it is a shared purpose. They are proud to use their gifts to help expand the organization’s reach and ensure that every partnership contributes to lasting change.
As the Program Coordinator for Daily Bread Africa, Barbara plays a vital role in ensuring that every meal is thoughtfully planned, prepared, and ready for distribution. With a deep sense of responsibility, she oversees the entire process from managing meal logistics to maintaining the highest standards of quality and care in every meal served. Her leadership and dedication help bring the organization’s vision to life, one nutritious meal at a time.
Fransisca tracks the organization’s reach by documenting the difference each distribution makes. As the Impact & Data officer, she ensures that every meal served translates into real, lasting impact. She finds joy and purpose in transforming data into meaningful insights that guide the team’s efforts and celebrate each milestone along the way. Her work reflects her belief that true impact isn’t only seen in reports, but felt in the smiles of those whose lives are being transformed.
